The Boy Scouts of America promotes a curiculum of adult training designed to provide leaders and parents with the tools they need to present a successful program to scouts and families.  Training for adult leaders is required by our pack to maintain our status as a Centennial Quality Unit.  Training is not just for the leaders in tan shirts, it's for parents too.  Take a look at the opportunities listed below designed to enhance the scouting experience.

An easy way to begin your training is online at the BSA Online Learning Center.  Simply create a pick a course and login to create a MyScouting account.  You do not need to be a registered leader to complete these easy online sessions.  Registration asks for an ID number from your BSA membership card.  You may skip this entry...or you can become a leader and submit your adult application...there's always room on the Pack Committee for another volunteer.

There are a number of courses from Youth Protection training to Hazardous Weather.  I suggest Youth Protection as a good starting point.  If you have ever wondered what it is like to get involved in a scout unit try your hand at one of the leader fast-start courses.

At the end of each online course you will receive a "certificate" of completion.  Please turn these in to the Pack Trainer so the pack records may be updated.

Youth protection training is required for all leaders.  This training may be completed online or at any of the monthly offerings throughout the council.

Basic Leader Training (this includes New Leader Essentials and Leader Specific) is required for each position you hold in the pack.

Leader attendance at the monthly district roundtable is encouraged.  This is the one meeting where you have a chance to interact with your district/council leadership and learn of upcoming events in our area.

Please submit any course completion certificates to the Pack Trainer as soon as possible.
